When doing a home renovation, a lot of homeowners stay put. If you decide to do the same, make safety a priority and know what you are getting yourself into. Benefits Of Living In While Renovating
First-off, it is much cheaper to stay at home than to move out, as hotel bills and expenses can easily add up. You can also keep track of the project and address any problems immediately if you are in the vicinity. Also, you can still prepare food for the family at home, thus saving money on restaurants. Basic Tips And Guidelines Deciding to stay at home during a renovation comes with some risks. Here are some general tips to help make the entire process safe for everybody and make the project finished fast, as you do not want to get in the way of the people working on your project. Protect areas that are construction-free. Most likely, your house will get dusty and messy. But, you can contain this problem to certain zones. Seal-off those construction-free areas. Store fragile decorations. Your things could easily break, especially if they are in or near the renovation area. Wear shoes at all times. A renovation site is a ground for a variety of things. You never know what your bare foot could step into. Keep children and pets away from the renovation area. They can be the cause of delays or accidents, which can extend the project timeline. Kitchen renovation should be done in the summer. The summer season enables you to cook outside when doing a kitchen renovation. You can transfer the microwave if your kitchen area is off-limits. One at a time for bathroom renovation. If you are planning to renovate your bathroom, make the renovating team work on one bathroom first before proceeding to another. Switch off your HVAC. If air flows all around your house, the dust has a tendency to fly everywhere. You may use an air handler to help filter the dust-out. Know the schedule of the renovation. As a homeowner, you should know the time during the day when the workers are in your house. This also helps control your privacy. Conclusion Regardless if you choose to go or stay during a home renovation, make sure to secure your possessions. Check your homeowner's insurance before you start the project. So, by now, you're probably wondering where we're going. We are definitely sticking to greys and whites in here, with some very mild blue colors, in keeping with the color palette of my home. This is the kids' bathroom, and while I hope to make it a little more fun with some extras, I'm keeping it clean and simple in terms of how we'll have to live with it for years to come. They won't always be toddlers, so making judgments based on their current ages isn't a good idea.
